My Village Dharakote

Dharakote is a semi-urban village located in the Dharakote Block of Ganjam district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is home to around 8,000 people and is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and fountains. The village is also home to a famous king palace and several other landmarks such as block headquarters, police stations and beautiful temples. One of the most famous events in Dharakote is the annual cart festival attended by thousands peoples from the near by villages.

Janmashtami 2013 - 28th August

Krishna Janmashtami is the birthday of God - Lord Krishna, and is a popular holiday in the Hindu Calendar.

Krishna took birth at midnight on the ashtami or the 8th day of the Krishnapaksha or dark fortnight in the Hindu month of Shravan (August-September). This auspicious day is called Janmashtami.
